Meet the Founder
Hello, my name is Britney! I grew up in two very different cultures in Asia—Taiwan and Thailand—and moved to the US at 18. I am currently a college student studying Business and Cinematic Arts at USC. Despite my academic focus, my daily life revolves around fashion and fragrance, things I find most fulfilling and enjoyable during my leisure time.
During my college years, I met many people from diverse backgrounds who, like me, were chasing their dreams in a foreign land. As we adapted to our new surroundings, we often found ourselves reminiscing about home, especially when we encountered familiar scents. I quickly realized that we all faced the common challenge of homesickness, and that scents can bring back memories. Inspired by the frangipani tree in my childhood garden, I decided to create this essential oils brand, FRANGIPANI, to help people find a sense of comfort and belonging through simple and natural scents. With FRANGIPANI, I hope to make essential oils a more common way to enhance well-being and to have the oriental scents intertwined with my memories of Asia become more recognized and beloved by the world.
Our Brand
The founder's deep passion for essential oils is intricately tied to her Asian heritage and personal stories. Upon relocating to the new country, she often yearned for the fragrances of her childhood—such as the breeze on her face during motorcycle rides with her grandmother, the aged pages of Tang poetry in the school library, and the frangipani blossoms that would fall on her shoes as she rang the doorbell at home. These once-overlooked moments transformed into powerful reminders of home, each marked by its distinct scent.
FRANGIPANI was established to share the unique and often underexplored fragrances of Asia with a broader audience. We are dedicated to showcasing the rich and varied aromas that characterize the region, including Hinoki, Litsea Cubeba, and other Oriental-inspired scents. Our mission is also to help individuals reconnect with their roots and revisit comforting memories from their past.
